- Artist statement -
Raised in Gabon and Côte d’Ivoire (West africa) until the age of 18, living today between Brussels Belgium
and Murano Venice, Anuschka’s roots and heart still lie in Africa. Anuschka graduated as a Business Engineer
and followed a career in Business Development and Marketing Communication,
until recently when she decided to pursue full time the creative path.
Her passion for beads started over 20 years ago with ancient and contemporary
african beads. She started making and selling jewelry in order to be able to
buy more beads.
Anuschka graduated as a gemmologist from the HRD (Hoge Raad voor Diamant) in
Antwerp. She also took the Rio Rewards PMC certification (Precious Metal Clay)
in Orlando- FL. Since 2011, I have been exploring other techniques in Glass:
engraving, fusing, casting, glass blowing...
Member of l’Association des Perliers d’Art de France. Member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers - ISGB.
Founding member of VerriBelGlass, Belgian Association for the promotion of
contemporary Glass. Vice-President of La Page Blanche, Belgian Association for
the promotion of Contemporary Crafts. Anuschka initiated the first gathering of
lampwork beadmakers in Belgium in Oct 2007: every first
weekend of October at La Foire du Verre de Lasne, close to Brussels.
