- Artist statement -
Designed and hand crafted in the UK by Jacob Pugh, these ornamental birds are
made in solid Maple or American Black Walnut wood and finished in a range of
colours.
Jacob Pugh is a furniture designer and maker based in York. He gained a BA
Honours degree in furniture design and craftsmanship before going on to
establish the studio and workshop in 2005.
His work ranges from bespoke commissions to batch produced products and his own
handcrafted furniture collection available from the online shop.
Jacob’s designs are a celebration of craftsmanship and the beauty of natural
materials. Every piece is carefully designed to work well, look beautiful and
keep doing so, long into the future.
With great respect for the environment, Jacob believes that if we make things
properly, from sustainable materials, that people admire, they will be
cherished and handed down. A contrast to the throw away culture that prevails today.
