Welcome to the COLOUR issue!

If you've been into the gallery recently, or visited our Online Shop, you will have spotted the stunning and colourful new ceramics by Maria Wojdat.
Specifically looking at the pestle and mortar, Maria has developed making techniques based on these actions.
Using pestles, which she hand carves from plaster, she examines how the pounding and grinding action reacts with the qualities of solid wet clay to create a form.

Colour is important – through the work she investigates a warm, vibrant and joyful palette that has evolved, and continues to evolve, to echo the nature of the forms.

Maria's work was featured in the June issue of House and Garden
