Michael started working in the art industry at an early age of 14 in his local gallery as an assistant and picture framer. He thoroughly enjoyed this as he was able to develop his skills as an artist and experiment with different areas in art.

After his GCSEs he studied a National Diploma in Art & Design at Long Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge, which developed his work even further, but he soon became aware that his work was dramatically changing and he could see a definite style emerging as he became more focused on landscapes.

In January 2008 Michael started working at The Curwen Studio at Chilford Hall as a studio printmaker. He works alongside artists such as Paula Rego, Antony Micallef and Mark Hearld to create original, hand drawn lithographs. He also works on a four colour reproduction technique which attracts artists like Mary Fedden, The Prince of Wales and Rolf Harris. This gives him a great opportunity to really see how artists like these work and to transfer their knowledge into his own work.
