Since Finishing A' levels at Gresham's School and acquiring an interest in oil painting, Olly took a year out before pursuing his ambitions and was accepted onto a Foundation Art course at University College Falmouth. Since finishing the foundation course he stayed in Falmouth and was accepted on a Fine Art Degree for the next three years. Earlier this year he was accepted onto a five month exchange programme at the highly acclaimed Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada.

Olly is a young artist from a local farming family in Binham and as a result much of the inspiration for his paintings comes from his love of the outdoors and the surrounding coast of Norfolk, as well as Cornwall. He travelled to Central America in 2007 where he gained the insight shown in the subject matter of a number of his art works. This combines to make a feeling of inspirational and energetic movement.

For the past few years at Art School Olly’s work has centred on figurative oil painting and printing, but when back home in Norfolk he carries out painting commissions ranging from boats to horses. He has really enjoyed the business aspect of creating and selling his work and is gradually generating a reputation locally to continue and develop when he has gained his degree in 2011.
